Day 2 was the best day at Yellowstone, the weather was so perfect and everything went smoothly. We woke up and headed to Mammoth Springs, and while on our way there we stopped and climbed these huge rocks that were on the side of the road....we were pretty high even though you can't really tell in our pictures!

We finally got to Mammoth Springs...and we went horse back riding while there!! My first time! It was so fun, I can't wait to do it again! My first horse, named Dodge, was extremely feisty and it being my first time, I was a tad bit scared, so I got to switch to a calmer/nicer horse, who's name is Boots! I loved Boots, he was such a sweetie. Jacob's horse, named Rooster, was a turd! He was so mean and would go around biting other horses, he even bit poor Boots right on the butt! So mean! But Jacob handled him pretty well, even though he couldn't get him to stop eating while we were riding, haha (we were specifically told not to let them eat!). It was a blast and I'm so glad Jacob took me!

Oh and how about that dandelion? It's the biggest one I've ever seen!!!

After that we went into town and ate some cheeseburgers and Snickers then we went to see the Mammoth Hot Springs, so beautiful (pictured above) the Liberty Cap (pictured above), and tons of Elk crossing the street!! Then we headed to the Boiling River because our horse guide told us we had to check it out. And it is located right on the state line of Montana and Wyoming, so we were able to check another state off our list!

We didn't have our swimsuits with us so we weren't able to get in the Boiling River (even though the next day we drove back so we could get in!), that day however we just stuck our hands in...and it is HOT! It's so crazy, it's like a hot tub, but even hotter than that in some places!! If you are ever in Yellowstone you have to go check it out and sit in it, it's amazing.

Here is what hikespeak says about the
Boiling River: "An underground discharge of water from a mysterious source beneath nearby hydrothermal terraces flows out of the ground at over 100 degrees. The channel joins the otherwise cold waters of the Gardner River, creating a blended pool that is too good to pass up."

After that we stopped by the River and took some pretty pictures (I'll share them later) drove around and saw another beautiful waterfall. Then we stopped on the side of the road and climbed up a mountain to watch the sunset and take some more beautiful pictures (I'll share later!). The sunset was amazing and it was so serene to be up on the mountain top, just me and Jacob. I loved it.

When were heading back to the campsite we saw all these cars pulled over in the middle of the road, so we stopped to see why and down the side of the hill was a black bear! Our first (and only) bear sighting!! It was so cool to actually see one out in the wild! We were so excited.

Then we got back to the campsite and star gazed, talked, ate soup, and drank wine. Such a perfect end to a perfect day.

First I want to start off by saying that Yellowstone Park is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. (Actually it is the MOST beautiful, I love it there). Jacob and I had a wonderful time and I'm so glad that we were able to travel up there!!

We started off our first day sitting by the fire with fire warmed cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate (yummy!)...and then it started raining (blah!) It rained pretty much all morning but finally stopped around 1:00 (thank the Lord!). While it was raining though we had the opportunity to go check out a lot of the geysers, caldrons, and springs! They were so cool, but pictures just don't do them justice, luckily I took some videos of them to be able to show my family! While driving to this area of the park we saw our first buffalo! Those things are massive!! We were so excited to see it and we were so close that while I was taking a picture (inside the car with my window down) it snorted and I felt it's breath on my arm! Scary but cool!

After that we headed to the Yellowstone Grand Canyon, (it is what most of the pictures above are of). It was just breathtaking and in my opinion even more beautiful then the Grand Canyon. It had a beautiful waterfall and river going down the middle, I loved it! We hiked to the very bottom of the waterfall (over 200 stairs, pretty scary, but so worth it!)  and then we went and viewed the crest of the waterfall which was amazing! There was a beautiful rainbow at the bottom (1st picture). I was in love!!!

Then we found a store because curly hair and rain does not make a good match! I got my bangs and hair straightened up...(haha I'm such a girl). And while there we ran into this monstrous stuffed moose! I had (well I still have him) a stuffed moose named Melvin when I was little whom I absolutely loved so I had to take a picture with the big Melvin! :)

After that we went by a quiet stream and just laid around and relaxed with each other, it was nice and peaceful. After that we headed over to see Old Faithful. It was such a cool thing to see, I'm so glad we had the opportunity. (A picture of it below the Old Faithful sign photo!)

That night we roasted marshmallows by the fire, then ate soup while star gazing. The night sky there is unbelievable. It's so gorgeous, I was obsessed, hundreds and hundreds of stars. I also saw the biggest shooting star I've ever seen and finally got to see the Milky Way. SO BEAUTIFUL!! I wish I could have taken a gazillion pictures of it.

So there is Day 1 of our trip in a nutshell! I can't wait to share the rest of our trip with yall!

Sweater: Therapy, Shorts: Abercrombie and Fitch

This is what I wore over my bikini on a not so warm afternoon at the beach. I am totally in love with this sweater from Therapy. First off, representing the best place on earth, America!! But it is also super soft, cozy, and warm. Perfect for late summer nights. This sweater scream Wildfox Couture to me, except at a much more affordable price. Perfection! I urge you to go grab yours before they are all gone!

And these shorts are the best denim shorts I've ever had. I've had them for about 6 years, and they have been worn so much that they hardly exist anymore haha. They aren't really appropriate for anywhere but the beach now days (even though I might be brave and wear them out elsewhere!)

I can't stop listening to Lana Del Rey these days. This song is one of my favorites, and the video is genius.
