Dress-Vintage, Tights-Target, Shoes-Jeffrey Campbell, Hat-Forever21

The past couple days have been absolutely beautiful, so I thought it would be the perfect oppurtunity to show off this beautiful dress. I found it at a second-hand store, and on the tag it said "vintage seventies prom dress" It was floor length but I shortened it to make it more wearable. While I was shortening it, I also noticed that it is hand-made, and that makes it even more amazing. I would just love to know the story of the night that this girl wore this beautiful dress to prom. I love the feeling of giving this dress life again :) From the top of the shoulder down to the wrist is beautiful pink lace, you can't see it in the pictures so I had to tell yall becuase it's so pretty!

I hate how the color of these tights shows up in pictures, I promise they are black not brown! I'm pretty sure I'm never wearing these tights again though!

Also, classes have started so Jacob and I are super busy, so their is not much time to take outfit photos....blah. But we are trying our best to make it happen! I hope you all have an safe and fun weekend!

  1. Are these Jeffrey Campbell "Lita" shoes the new "it" shoes for ladies nowadays? All the fashionable types wearing these shoes proudly.

While I usually prefer cute pumps or sandals to go with a party dress, the combination of these shoes with the super-cute party dress and these tights... actually surprisingly comes together very well. This is a very nice look. I really love this dress. The hat is cool, too. You look cute, as always! :)

  5. Wow! I was actually thinking, "I thought it'd be floor length and more detailed for a 70s prom dress." Then I read your description about the lace and the shortening (:
    It came out beautifully!

  7. I adore how you reinvented the dress, I would love to know the story behind it too. It's so pretty. The tights look sheer black to me sweetie, don't worry! :) Good luck with school work!

  8. This dress would be lovely even if it were its original floor length. Not sure if showing off the "Lita" Jeffrey Campbell lace-ups would be as chic under a floor-length dress as it is with this much shortened one. It must have been a beautiful dress to be made more beautiful with tights and lace-up shoes. Again, I'd be okay with this paired with some cute peep-toe platforms or some beautiful heeled sandals. While a bit unusual, this combination of the dress, the black tights, and those lace-ups are all (to me) surprisingly lovely.

Adding edge to a lovely/girly outfit can yield unexpected amounts of chic style. These pictures proves my statement masterfully. This is a fantastic look!

  12. How did you hem the accordion pleats on your dress? Did you just fold under and sew?
